Where Pensionnat Saint-Joseph used to be home, we are busy building a warm, green residential area. Soon, this historic site will be home to as many as 36 families. Thanks to a hot, dry summer and smooth cooperation with construction partner Danilith, the new building process is going perfectly according to plan. In the first-built homes, the finishing phase has already begun. However, we expect all homes to be casually finished - i.e. wind- and watertight - by spring 2023. Next on the agenda is the network infrastructure and the overall approach to the site: think road construction, street lighting and atmospheric planting.
Sluis: meeting between town and nature
For the core of Sluis, new construction project Saint-Joseph means a real residential expansion. Thanks to this neighbourhood, as many as 70 new residents will move into the old fortified town. Besides the volume of the houses, the location is one of the absolute trump cards. It promises to be a unique place, close to Sluis' green lung, within cycling distance of the North Sea and yet right in the town.
Interesting mix of people
What is striking about project Saint-Joseph is that young and not-so-young will find what they are looking for. From enthusiastic young people buying their first home, to investors and people approaching retirement: everyone appreciates the centre of Sluis.
Danilith: family contractor with over 100 years' experience
For new construction project Saint-Joseph, ZwinRegio is working with construction company Danilith. This project is not exactly their first. The family-run East Flanders construction company can fall back on no less than 101 years of experience. The cooperation between ZwinRegio and Danilith is going well. Remarkably, both fi rms operate in both Belgium and the Netherlands. Danilith has its home base in Belgium, in Wortegem-Petegem (East Flanders). Meanwhile, they have also been firmly rooted in Etten-Leur in the Netherlands for 30 years. Meanwhile, the fourth generation within Danilith is in charge, including Chiara Delmulle. Chiara is the permanent contact for Saint-Joseph and guides buyers through the entire building process in a highly professional and cordial manner.
Traditional and automated construction
Chiara Delmulle talks about the secrets of the rapidly progressing site. "What is unique about this project is its scale. In one year, we are erecting 36 houses for Saint-Joseph. Thanks to our unique prefabrication method, we build qualitatively but also quickly. We assemble each wall completely in our factory in Wortegem-Petegem. From facing brick to windows and sills: everything is ready in advance. From there, they leave for the site, where they are expertly installed. In this way, we build an average of one home per week."
Very last chance to be part of this project
Buyers clearly like the project. Of the 36 houses included in the project, only one is still available. With an energy-efficient base and high-end finishes, the home therefore offers the perfect blend of sustainability and comfort.
